September 30, 2014 | Daniella & Letisha Jones-EllisHave you ever wondered when that all important date will hit, when Andre 3000 releases his next solo album? Well, no need for any more speculation as the man himself has addressed the most talked-about subject surrounding his career ever since his joint shows with Big Boi as OutKast this past summer.
Andre 3000 is currently focusing on promoting his biopic film where he portrays the late Jimi Hendrix in, Jimi: All Is By My Side, which was officially released in theatres last week. The movie focuses on just a small part of Jimi Hendrix’s life as he left New York City for London, but this was where his career really took off after much deliberation about what kind of an artist he wanted to be.
Reviews are already praising Andre for his acting skills when it comes to the portrayal of the famous musician, singer and songwriter. So, although the anticipated solo album won’t be with us this year as he reveals he hasn’t yet started on it, you’ll be pleased to hear it’s not the end of his music career.
“To be clear, there’s no retirement,” said Andre 3000. Plus, whilst you wait for that project, this new film will have you viewing Andre 3000 in a different light.
So, will we be seeing him in any more movie roles? “I do read scripts,” said Andre 3000. “But I have to be excited about it to really fully throw myself into it. The older I get, I don’t know what my decisions will be. I may start just taking roles just to support myself, just kind of keep busy.”
