May 11, 2015 | D&LWith Snoop Dogg’s new album becoming available to purchase this week, what better time to see what’s on offer for rap music’s latest release?
Day one fans of the rapper and those who follow the Hip Hop artist will be happy to know that he has returned to what he does best – rap music! Following his recent change in direction to Reggae music and the introduction of Snoop Lion, unfortunately this wasn’t so well received by his fans, but no one can say he’s not afraid to step out of the box and experiment with his gift of music right?
Back to Bush, Snoop’s 13th solo studio album will see an array of features, including Gwen Stefani, Charlie Wilson, Rick Ross, Kendrick Lamar on the aptly titled ‘I’m Ya Dogg’, and of course Pharrell Williams, who features on the album’s first single release ‘Peaches N Cream’. Not to mention the production credits he has on the project throughout.
Another feature, which may come as a surprise to some, is the legendary artist, Stevie Wonder. With a career spanning several decades and songs touching on subjects such as society, equal rights, race, the economy and more, Stevie has clearly made an impression on Snoop and we for one look forward to hearing the result.
Celebrating the pending release of what he hopes to be lucky number 13, Snoop recently performed on the US’ The Voice, where his friend and collaborator Pharrell is currently a judge on the show, alongside fellow feature Gwen Stefani.
Gwen herself is working on her own album, which is thought to be released later this year. Solo album number three has been long awaited by fans of the singer, particularly those who have been supporting her since her days in No Doubt, but with a recent focus on her family life and helping kick start the careers of others, she is now back in the studio, enlisting the help of the likes of Charli XCX, Sia, Calvin Harris and Miguel… but not in the way you expect.
Helping her passion return and reigniting the ‘fire in her belly’, the artists have had an influence on Gwen without them even being in the same room! From inspiration from afar, to help with writing content via work with the same team, all were involved one way or another and who knows, some may even be included on a feature….
From Bush, a new television show, supporting gun campaigns and working with Bow Wow on his own new music, it looks like Snoop is back with his working family with a bang.
