BET Honors Celebrates The Work of Berry Gordy

February 24, 2014 | Daniella & Letisha Jones-Ellis

Tonight the BET Honors ceremony airs internationally for all to see the legendary Berry Gordy celebrated for his work in the music industry and all he has done for generations to come.

The nationwide broadcast comes after the ceremony’s recording earlier this month (UK viewers can tune into BET on February 28th) and the creator and label founder of Motown can be seen receiving his visionary award following his creation of a lifestyle in which he ‘redefined’ an industry and ‘created the soundtrack to a generation.’

So much so that Broadway, Motown The Musical was created to showcase Berry’s influence within the worlds of music and life in general, creating music that would break racial barriers, celebrate black music and create music for all to enjoy.

Launching the careers of Diana Ross, Mariah Carey and Michael Jackson, this music mogul will be honoured alongside Aretha Franklin and stage performances by Janelle Monae, Jennifer Hudson and Mariah Carey can also be looked forward to.

Tonight’s broadcast is hosted by Wayne Brady.
