BG Records Presents Womanity PLUS A Debut Release

November 4, 2013 | Daniella & Letisha Jones-Ellis

If you need some plans this weekend that spell inspiration, empowerment and unity, then BG Records have just the event for you.

Saturday November 9th sees the local music label and their Young Women’s Music Project give you Womanity; a day of workshops and a live performance at Oxford’s East Oxford Community Centre, resulting in a great day day of positive lectures and words of encouragement and wisdom.

This ‘festival of music, workshops and discussions to inform, inspire and empower’ is an all day festival with ‘an aim to provide a forum for young people of all genders’. From 12:00-23:00, BG are encouraging all to ‘come together to create, learn and discuss gender based issues, which affect their day-to-day lives’.

Sales end the day before so be sure to get those tickets in good time for workshops including Sabrina Chap’s creativity and self destruction lecture, Erika Thompson’s discussion on celebrating your body and join Vaitea’s research in looking into the history of the female MC.

Tickets available here , plus check out the latest release from BG in the form of Despicable Zee’s debut EP.
