October 31, 2014 | D<elevision presenters Ant & Dec have been confirmed to host 2015’s BRIT Awards!
The popular television duo are set to takeover from host of the past three years James Corden, as the celebration of British music takes place at London’s o2 Arena on February 25th. The event also sees the duo return to host the music event for the first time in 14 years.
With the winning trophies being received on the night now designed by Tracey Emin, Anthony McPartlin & Declan Donnelly are ‘especially excited’ and honoured to be chosen for the hosting role, particularly being number one recording artists themselves, with this year’s re-release of their 1994 hit ‘Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble’. The song received its own BRIT nomination back in 1994 for Best Song.
“We’re really excited to be hosting the BRITs again next year,” they said. “It is undoubtedly the biggest night in the British music calendar.”
Ant & Dec have become the nation’s favourite following their time in television series Byker Grove at the start of their careers, which then saw them take on hosting roles in hit shows such as I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!, Saturday Night Takeaway, Britain’s Got Talent and more. Their fan base also includes BRITs chairman Max Lousada.
“Ant and Dec are two of the most popular TV broadcasters this country has ever produced,” he said. “It’s great that these two pillars of British TV will be part of a night about celebrating icons in British music.”
Having won the Most Popular Entertainment Presenter category at the National Television Awards 13 times, this role could be classed as being very well deserved, don’t you think?
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! returns to our screens very soon with Gemma Merna, Tom Daley, Michelle Keegan and Tulisa Contostavlos rumoured to be joining the line up.
