Bugzy Malone revives a Garage classic with new single ‘Through the Night’

May 24, 2017 | D&L

Bugzy Malone has a new track for the fans and those familiar with a Garage classic will no doubt love the track on its first listen.

‘Through the Night’ is the latest release from the artist representing the Manchester Grime scene, and features freshly recorded vocals from MC Neat, as he revives the hook from his well known track with DJ Luck, ‘With a Little Bit Of Luck’.

Speaking on the nature of the track and the ferocious rhymes that come with it, Bugzy said, “I think a lot of MCs right now are lazy, and they’re being given massive opportunities to become an artist and create and get paid for that, and I think they’re a little too quick to kind of go in the direction of what somebody else has done.

“People who are one-dimensional and quick to do that won’t last long, they’ll fizzle out.”

Taken from his upcoming EP drop and to be released via his own III Gotten Records, King of the North, the new project, coming July 14th, has a name inspired by the nickname given to him by his fans.

“That was something that I felt proud of, because being from the north of England, there’s not been many people that have got the success in the music industry that I’ve had,” he said.

“Without the support of the fans it might not have happened, because it would have been easier sometimes to be like, ‘You know what, I’ll go back onto the streets and live in the shadows where I’m not massively exposed.’ It’s something I’m proud of, something I stand for, and what I represent.”

Check out the EP’s track list below, with features from Shola Ama, Tom Grennan, Toddla T and Shift K3y included.
