January 23, 2015 | D&LLast week we shared news of D’Angelo heading back to New York City’s Apollo Theatre and now he has more performance news for television audiences.
On January 31st, the neo-soul artist will be performing live on Saturday Night Live (SNL).
Following actor J.K. Simmons’ hosting role, the singer will perform with his band, The Vanguard, no doubt performing singles from their new album, titled Black Messiah. SNL will mark D’Angelo’s first televised performance since the album’s release and his first televised performance since 2012.
Following his night on SNL, it’s then on to New York City’s Apollo on February 7th, where D’Angelo will headline his own show. Making the occasion that little bit more special, is the knowledge that this is the place where a young D’Angelo won an amateur night back in the 90’s.
Since dropping the album back in December, D’Angelo will be taking his latest project on the road in the Second Coming Tour. Get your dates below, as the US artist and his band come to a city near you.
