January 15, 2013 | Daniella & Letisha Jones-Ellisinging shows and contests were originally created as a platform for talented individuals to show off their talent and compete for that winning contract to pursue their hobby as a career. Nowadays it’s clear that this has changed.
A lot of emphasis is put on the entertainment factor and this tends to be highly praised whether the act can sing well or not. The entertainment factor appears to include popularity, personality, stage presence and fan base which all performers should have but in our eyes, singing live and putting on a show at the same time covers a high percentage of this entertainment factor.
Lately, the UK talent shows we see on our screens don’t necessarily progress the artist’s career once they have won the competition. Those who have made it as runners up seem to have defeated them. But one group who seems to have defied the odds with this bad luck streak is Little Mix.
Since their win on the UK X-Factor in 2011 they took their time as to what music they would release following on from their show performances. Their song choices were of a certain genre and they have definitely stuck to that; which is exactly what they want to do.
They have had a taste of touring with The X-Factor Tour and now they are headlining their own, which hits Oxford on February 12th2013 at the New Theatre.
Perrie, Leigh-Anne, Jade and Jessie each bring a different flavour to the group and there’s no doubt that they sure can put on a show. “It’s so exciting that we’re about to go out on our first tour!,†said the girls. “We’ve spent most of the year recording our album and we can’t wait to see our fans again.â€
We’re pretty sure the feeling is mutual where their fans are concerned. Catch the girls at the New Theatre where you’ll be hearing their hit songs ‘Wings’, one of our favourites ‘DNA’ and a whole lot more of their R&B and Pop sound.
