September 11, 2017 | D&LHave you seen the new visual from Grim Sickers?
The past few days has seen circulation of the artist’s latest release reach new heights, particularly after its radio premiere with DJ Target on BBC Radio 1Xtra.
Featuring one of Grime’s well known emcees, Ghetts, Darker the Shadow the Brighter the Light, also features, better known to some as Mike Skinner. Performing under a new performance name, ‘Open the Till’ is the new drop in question, and also acts as a first for Mike under his new name. With production credits on the track also coming from the former The Streets artist, this release is definitely a big career moment for him.
Shot on location in Ibiza and London’s very own Oxford Street, the self described dark, bassy riddim showcases Grim Sickers’ distinctive and unconventional voice, making way for the perfect visual to match his sound.
With great feedback to date, the new release has already been featured on Song of the Week playlists in Brazil and Portugal, plus it was previously sat at number 5 on Spotify’s Grime Shutdown playlist.
Here’s ‘Open the Till’.
