Faith Evans shares ‘Ten Wife Commandments’ ahead of The King & I duets album release

March 28, 2017 | D&L

Award winning singer, songwriter, actress and writer, Faith Evans, shares the latest preview single from her upcoming collaboration album, The King & I.

Presenting the long awaited duets album with the late Notorious B.I.G., the project tells the story of their life together, as she remembers her husband, one of the world’s most influential rappers to date.

‘Ten Wife Commandments’ is the third single taken from the upcoming album, following ‘NYC’ featuring Jadakiss, and ‘When We Party’ featuring Snoop Dogg. Based on Biggie’s hit ‘Ten Crack Commandments’, ‘Ten Wife Commandments’ sees the singer portray things from her own perspective.

Due out on May 19th, fans can expect to hear 25 new tracks from Faith with Biggie’s vocals included, some featuring rare and unheard content and some with well known lyrics from the rapper.

With an impressive line up of album features included, listen out for Busta Rhymes, Lil’ Cease, Lil’ Kim, Sheek Louch, Styles P, and production from DJ Premier, Just Blaze, Salaam Remi, Stevie J, and Chucky Thompson along the way.

Further adding a personal touch to the project is Biggie’s mother, Voletta Wallace, who can also be heard throughout the album. On interludes that provide narration to the project, she joins Faith and Biggie, plus guest voices 112, Kevin McCall, Faith’s daughter Chyna Tahjere, and Jamal ‘Gravy’ Woolard, who played Biggie in the 2009 movie, Notorious.

Coming 20 years after Biggie’s untimely death and also following the 20th anniversary of his album release, Life After Death, there are several special dates surrounding the new project, making it that much more memorable and heartfelt for those included, and of course the fans. We can’t wait to hear the album in full!

Pre order The King & I today, which will later be followed by the vinyl release on June 9th.
