In the words of Nicki Minaj, “What’s Good” Divas and Dudes? From Kanye’s Presidential Bid at this year’s drama filled MTV Video Music Awards, to Tyga’s risqué music video with girlfriend Kylie Jenner – your girl ChristineDoesDrama kept up with the action to give you the latest celebrity news in a nice appetising bitesize chunk.

Kanye West For President and Nicki Minaj and Miley Cyrus Square Off!

Miley Cyrus kept the censors busy at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. The starlet was this year’s host and if you didn’t know before, Miley likes weed. A lot. Throughout the show, her love for marijuana was mentioned frequently and of course each outfit change more racy and revealing than the last. At one point, Cyrus ended up walking on stage in a giant pair of lips and two big eyes covering her boobs. After two hours of what seemed like Miley competing with herself to say and wear the most outrageous things – she “accidentally” exposed her breast.

Seconds after Taylor Swift won the award for Best Music Video for the epic “Bad Blood”, the camera switched over to Cyrus, who was covering herself with a black curtain from her dressing room. A member of the MTV crew handed Cyrus a microphone and her left nipple was clearly seen on screen. An unbothered Miley was heard saying “Oh what’s happening? Oh sorry, my tit’s out?”

However Miley’s nudity was the least of her hosting problems. As Nicki Minaj arrived to collect her moonman for Best Hip Hop video for Anaconda, the rapper gave Cyrus a piece of her mind.

In a recent interview with The New York Times, Miley was asked her opinion on the recent Twitter beef with Taylor Swift and Minaj. Minaj took to Twitter when she failed to get a nomination for Video of The Year, claiming she wasn’t the “right” sort of artist.

She wrote: “If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year.” Swift took this as a personal attack on her as she was nominated (and went on to win) Video of the Year. Swift and Minaj squashed their beef at this year’s ceremony and performed together.

Cyrus was quoted as saying “If you do things with an open heart and you come at things with love, you would be heard and I would respect your statement. But I don’t respect your statement because of the anger that came with it.” Nicki took her opportunity to address Miley’s statement and finished off her acceptance speech by saying, “This b***h had a lot to say about me the other day in the press, Miley what’s good?” Cameras caught Cyrus looking completely taken aback by Minaj’s words and chose to take the high road responding, “We’re all in the industry, we all do interviews, and we all know how they manipulate shit”.

The biggest talking point at this year’s ceremony was Kanye West’s rambling speech when he was presented with the MTV Video Vanguard Award by his former nemesis, Taylor Swift. The rapper apologised for his stage intrusions in the past as he accepted the prestigious award. Kanye admitted he had smoked a roll-up beforehand – “I will die for the art, for what I believe in,” he said “And the art ain’t always going to be polite! Ya’ll might be thinking, I wonder, ‘Did he smoke something before he came out?’ The answer is yes, I rolled up something. I knocked the edge off.”

He ended his speech by declaring : “I have decided to run for President”. The funny thing was seeing this on the ten o’clock news, as broadcasters took Kanye’s presidential bid as gospel. However Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian showed their support of Kanye on social media, sharing photoshopped images of them in The White House. Other highlights of the show were Justin Bieber’s emotional performance of “What Do You Mean?”, with the singer breaking down in tears during the performance. Sources say he was very nervous as this was his first performance at the VMAs in five years and and was overwhelmed with the positive reaction. Nudity. Tantrums. Tears. Sounds like a typical VMA award ceremony to me.

Kylie Jenner Appears in Tyga’s New Music Video “Stimulated”

Now that Kylie Jenner has turned 18, her relationship with her 25 – year old rapper boyfriend Tyga is now officially “legal” and the two have gone public with their romance. The couple were pictured together on holiday in Mexico openly showing affection and holding hands. However Tyga’s new song “Stimulated” talks about his relationship before their relationship became legal.

The public’s reaction to this has been mixed with some claiming the lyrics are basically the rapper admitting to statutory rape, with lines including: “They say she young, I shoulda waited / She a big girl, dog, when she stimulated,” and “She a big girl, dog/ I’m gonna do what the f**k I wanna do when I wanna do / She a big girl, dog / I’m puttin’ in, I’m penetratin’/ I’m gettin’ big, I’m stimulated.”

Kylie Jenner appears in the video for the song and the two are openly showing affection. Some took offence to Tyga sampling the classic song by Robert Miles, “Children” and complained that it shouldn’t be used in a track that’s “promoting pedophilia.”

The Kardashian’s seem to be supportive of the couple, with Tyga accompanying Kylie Jenner to the VMA awards. However none of the Kardashian’s have spoken out about the suggestive lyrics of Tyga’s new song. Whatever you think of the track, Tyga has definitely caught the Kardashian/Jenner bug of creating headlines.

Kevin Gates Kicks A Female Fan At Concert

Kevin Gates kicked a female fan in the chest for reaching out and touching him while he was on stage. The 29 – year old rapper was playing at Club Rumors in Lakeland, Florida, when the incident occurred. Lakeland Police said Tuesday, they are charging rapper Kevin Gates with simple battery. Fans of Gates were disgusted when footage emerged late Saturday night and thousands signed a petition aimed at banning Gates from Florida venues.

Tampa station WILD 94.1 announced Tuesday they will not be playing Gates’ music on their station anymore.

The victim, Miranda Dixon, 18, was struck in the mid-section by Gates on Friday night, after she reached out and touched his shorts. She paid $35 dollars for her ticket and claims she has “forgiven” him, but “is no longer a fan” Her mother, Kristy Irelan, told News Channel 8 that Gates is a “loser” and a “jerk”. Dixon claims she is still in pain, “It still hurts so much, that is why I try not to talk too much, or even walk around”.

Gates broke his silence over the incident by releasing the song “The Truth.” The track features the Baton Rouge rapper claiming Dixon grabbed his penis several times. He says he warned the woman to stop touching him before he kicked her. One part of the song includes the lines, “You should have respect for yourself. You a queen and you wasn’t respecting yourself.”

He claims the video was edited and that he took offence as his kids were there seeing him being violated. Why he didn’t ask security to remove her the first time he asked her to stop touching him remains to be seen. However this is not Kevin Gates’ first brush with controversy. He openly admitted to sleeping with his cousin and to kicking a woman out of his house because she wouldn’t give fellatio to his dog. Back in March, while performing at Club Z in Michigan, TMZ reported he got into two separate fights with women at his show.

An exceptionally drama filled week in the lives of the rich and famous. I don’t know about you but I need a breather! See you next week for more of the same? Until next time Drama Divas and Dudes.
