Meet Tanya G, a soulful garage singer hailed from Hackney East London, who is the fresh face behind the revival of Gloria Gaynor’s hit, ‘I Will Survive’.
The singer is no stranger to the music industry, as she was previously the lead singer in the dirty-pop girl group, Fe-Nix, who took the urban music scene by storm with their catchy rendition of, ‘My Boo’ and their original singles, ‘Swagga’ and ‘Red Light’. They were also often spotted with N-Dubz, Pussycat Dolls, Tinchy Stryder, Tinie Tempah, JLS and more.
The singer released her debut solo single, Can’t Feel Your Love, last year, as a taster of what we are to expect in her upcoming career. Now she is back with a modern day twist on Gloria Gaynor’s hit, ‘I Will Survive’, in hopes to encourage women all around the world with this empowering single.
In the music video for the single, the storyline portrays a young woman going through a situation in her relationship where she’s having a hard time with a guy and then builds the strength to leave him; move on and survive!
Tanya G is definitely one to watch in 2017, as she has mentioned in previous interviews that she is even looking to collaborating with some Garage legends on her upcoming album. She’s already worked with, ‘Do You Mind’ producer Paleface, whose single was incorporated into Drake’s ‘One Dance’, and is also rumoured to have a project coming up with DJ Sticky and So Solid Crew!
