Ice-T Gives Hip Hop A Voice In A Big Screen Documentary

April 17, 2012 | Daniella & Letisha Jones-Ellis

One of hip-hop’s original lyricists is bringing the history of rap to the big screen.

Ice-T’s upcoming documentary Something From Nothing: The Art Of Rap will be hitting select theatre’s this summer and will feature the likes of KRS-One, Run DMC, Kanye West, Nas and Eminem.

Making sure to cover a broad range and portraying the old and new skool of the hip-hop world, Ice will conduct interviews with members of yesterday and today to get their perspective across of the genre they live and breathe.

Although nowadays, Ice is more involved in motivational speaking events or acting in his regular television role in Law & Order, hip-hop will always be where it all started for the entrepreneur.

We’re sure it will make for interesting and educational viewing.

Here’s a throwback moment for Ice fans with his positive message given in ‘Lethal Weapon’, taken from his third studio album The Iceberg/Freedom of Speech…Just Watch What You Say.
