INSPIRED: Frank Ocean’s New Album

April 8, 2015 | D&L

It was just last week that we were playing music from Frank Ocean’s latest album release and now the star has announced the date for his new project!

channel ORANGE was a huge hit with all music lovers when Frank shared his project with the world, so he set a pretty high bar for himself to top this time around. With hits such as ‘Pyramids’, ‘Thinkin Bout You’, ‘Crack Rock’ and ‘Sweet Life’ on the Grammy award winning album, this compilation was one that you could listen to from beginning to end, over and over again.

Now, the R&B artist has revealed that he has two new album versions to be released and the first will be in July later this year. Features on this new album will include collaborations with Rodney Jerkins, Lil B, Charlie Gambetta, Happy Perez and Hit Boy!

Do you think Frank can create something even better than channel ORANGE? In our opinion, we don’t think this will be on his mind. If he focuses too much on trying to compare this project to his last, it’s likely to fail, because too much pressure is there.

We think he will be going for a different R&B sound where you’ll see a new side of him. Look at the previous tracks he has shared since, with ‘Memrise’ and ‘At Your Best (You Are Love)’; these are perfect examples of him heading in a new direction with his latest sound.

Although it’s not confirmed whether these tracks will feature on his new album, we’re positive Frank is only looking ahead when it comes to his upcoming projects.
