March 20, 2015 | D<here is no doubt about it that there is no other singer like the late Amy Winehouse. There are singers who you can relate to, who completely own the stage in their performances and those who let you feel their pain with every note – Amy did this and more, so it’s not a surprise that there are now talks of a documentary on the star is in the works.
From a young age, Amy was hugely talented at singing, so for her to pursue a music career in her later years was a smooth transition for herself, as well as her parents, who supported their daughter in her craft.
The documentary is set to be released this Summer and it’s said to focus on her relationships, battles with media attention and segments of unheard recordings and unseen archival footage.
The film, titled ‘Amy’, will be released by the Altitude Film Distribution on July 3rd and a trailer to represent the highly anticipated documentary is on its way!
You certainly can’t mistake Amy’s unique voice, a fusion of pop, jazz and blues tones that sounded just as powerful with or without the accompaniment of her band, or a strong backing track. Plus, with an iconic beehive hairstyle, cat-eyed make-up and a number of tattoos, Amy sure did leave her mark on the music business with her passing at the age of just 27.
Although she lived a short life and had much more to give, her parents continue to nurture her legacy with the Amy Winehouse Foundation (dedicated to preventing the effects of drug and alcohol misuse on young people) and of course with the stunning albums she had released; Being Frank, Back to Black and Lioness: Hidden Treasures.
We can’t wait to see the finished product.
