Written and directed by Charis Agbonlahor, this latest production touches upon the expectations expected of women in today’s society and the pressure that comes along with it.
‘Throughout the generations, the expectation of raising the perfect nuclear family has been a source of pressure for many women who wish to fulfil career ambitions and personal desires.’
Showing at Bethnal Green’s Oxford House, Jasmine will be available to see on 18th, 19th, 21st-23rd August at 7.30pm, for an insight into a topic ticket holders are likely to relate to and will open the eyes of others in the process.
‘Seen through the eyes of an elderly woman called Jasmine, the play explores the social and institutional expectations of woman and marriage along with societies perceptions regarding the choices they make.’
