April 7, 2017 | D&LNeo-Soul singer, Kemi Ade, has shared the latest single from her upcoming EP release, and the result… four minutes of dreamy and effortless melodic sounds.
‘Third’ is the new track taken from the O.W. Nesty EP, and further showcases the young artist’s own portrayal of Soul, Jazz, Hip Hop and Folk genres. In fusing these sounds together, Kemi has often been compared to the likes of Jill Scott, Musiq Soulchild and Erykah Badu.
Still very much creating her own sound, with this factor making her a current and unique artist of present, Kemi continues to be recognised for her great lyrical and emotional maturity. She has also received radio airplay from BBC 1Xtra, headlined at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club and performed on Reload Sessions, Ont’ Sofa, and most recently Jade Avia’s HungOver Jams alongside Novelist, and Miraa May.
Speaking on her EP release, the South London based artist said, “O.W. Nesty is my way of encouraging people to immerse themselves in a pure moment, even if it’s just for 16 minutes.
“All I’ve known is wanting to sing – it’s like a choice that was already made for me.”
