February 26, 2016 | D&LWe had to give you a double track for this weekend’s anthem because we just couldn’t choose. Both these tracks have been on our playlists this week and as they’re very contrasting songs, the double dose of music is great for whatever mood you’ll be in.
First of all we have Adele, the lady of the week, who won four BRIT Awards at the ceremony that took place on Wednesday night. The London born signer won awards for Best British Female Solo Artist, Best Album for 25, Best British Single for ‘Hello’ and the Global Success award, which was well deserved following her recent world-breaking records.
After the ceremony had finished and her performance of ‘When We Were Young’ was over, Adele reflected on the incredible night. She said: “I feel a bit worn out, emotionally. But it was absolutely incredible. I was hoping to win one but to get that many was amazing and very lovely. A nice return.”
Moving onto Tinie Tempah, following his Junk Food mixtape, the rapper has released a new single featuring Zara Larsson, titled ‘Girls Like’. The track will feature on his new studio album so it gives you an idea of the type of music he is currently working on, a contrast to his latest mixtape.
Plus, if you’re already wanting to hear more new music from Tinie, it has been said that he is working on new material and set to release a new album before the end of the year! In the meantime you can catch him at Brixton’s O2 Academy on April 16th for a one-off show, featuring Grime MC, Big Narstie, as the support act. Tickets are still available.
So, check out Adele’s ‘When We Were Young’ and a preview of Tinie Tempah’s ‘Girls Like’ featuring Zara Larsson, which you can buy on iTunes or stream on Spotify.
