March 4, 2016 | D&LEver since the UK’s Craig David returned to making new music, he’s had fans question why he left to begin with.
Taking a break to work on other projects, which include his role as a DJ abroad with TS5, Craig is now back, with his latest song release causing him to re-create his iconic look from the artwork of his debut album.
As he shared a photo on his Instagram page this week, with the hashtag #BornToReDoIt, he had fans reminiscing, with others so happy about the new 2016 image, where he now wears a pair of Dre Beats headphones. In fact Craig’s number one debut album still holds a record 16 years later, as he remains the man behind the fastest selling debut album by a British Male solo act!
From ‘When The Bassline Drops’, to currently featuring on Katy B’s new track ‘Who Am I’, Craig can also be heard on ‘Breathe Life’, his cover of Jack Garratt’s hit, which will be included on the track listing on Beats Presents: The REDO Series.
Being popular for the festival circuit this Summer, Craig hopes to be a part of MacFest, a tribute festival taking place in memory of 20 year old Macauley Campbell, who lost his life in a car crash last month. A fundraiser raising thousands has already been successful to date, with artists such as Stormzy already confirming his presence. “And last but not least… #MacFest2016 CAN COUNT ME IN!! Long Live Mac Campbell, seemed like a real legend”, he stated.
There’s certainly no stopping Craig this year where the music is concerned. Did we mention he’s been in talks with Drake to create a joint mixtape? Keep your eyes peeled…
Here’s your weekend anthem with Born To Do It hit, ‘Can’t Be Messing Around’.
