London Fashion Week Brings Two New Features

September 9, 2013 | Daniella & Letisha Jones-Ellis

Although New York Fashion Week is currently taking place, it’ll soon be full speed ahead onto the next event in the busy world that is fashion and on this occasion it’s London’s time to take the shine.

And with the popular event comes two new activities for you to get involved in.

Fashion Friday will give an insight into exclusive content, breaking news and competitions on the London Underground every Friday. By simply hashtagging FashionFriday, this act will help to unite and promote digital fashion content and is a ‘dedicated opportunity each week for fashion followers to celebrate fashion’.

During the busy commute, weekly news bulletin will broadcast to London’s commuter audience on London Underground platform screens and this partnership with CBS Outdoor means ‘this city-wide activity will be the catalyst to encourage Londoners to be a part of the conversation by using the hashtag #FashionFriday’.

As if that wasn’t enough to get you excited and involved for LFW, The Shop will launch this Friday September 13th and will be selling current collections from British designers, including Zoe Jordan, Henry Holland, Sophia Webster and more.

Staying open until September 22nd, the pop up shop will celebrate British contemporary fashion at LFW and feature edits of the industry’s most exciting names.

The concept store will be all about ‘collaboration and exploration’ and will be ‘a creative environment for brands to sell product to a highly targeted consumer audience, made up of trade and industry insiders’.

With two rooms dedicated to the shop in Somerset House, many AW ready to wear accessories and brands will be on offer and will play host to series of pop up events. The publicly open event will include flash sales, musical performances, readings, interviews and guest appearances, so don’t miss out on your chance to be involved in LFW 13.
