Mariah Carey Writes & Performs New Single For Walt Disney Release

February 8, 2013 | Daniella & Letisha Jones-Ellis

Everyone loves a Walt Disney movie, including Grammy award winning singer, songwriter and mother Mariah Carey, so much so that she’s even lent her voice to an upcoming fantasy adventure.

Oz the Great and Powerful which stars Mila Kunis & Michelle Williams, hits movie screens this Spring and Mariah is to debut her single ‘Almost Home’, which she co-wrote and performs for ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’ based movie’s soundtrack.

Described as a duet between MC and the movie, the close relationship between her vocals, lyrical content and the movie is thought to be a great union.

Not only based on the book and the movie The Wizard of Oz, this 2013 2D and 3D release is set before either occurred, acting as a prequel to a great novel and timeless film.

“’Almost Home’ has a message that works beautifully with the film,” Mariah Carey states. “It’s a feel-good record; it gives you the feeling of reaching your home and being with people that you love.”

We look forward to the February 19th release! But for now, we’ll leave you with the movie’s adaptation The Wiz and Diana Ross’ similarly titled track ‘Home’. Enjoy.

**UPDATE** Check out Mariah on the track ‘Almost Home’.
