September 26, 2014 | Daniella & Letisha Jones-EllisMary J Blige unveils two new tracks with a little help from Sam Smith.
With her upcoming album The London Sessions continuing to create a buzz in the music world, as well as the single ‘Right Now’, the US singer, songwriter and actress can be heard on the track ‘Therapy’ and ‘Whole Damn Year’, as she bears her heart and soul for the world to hear.
‘Whole Damn Year’ depicts a hard breakup of a relationship. With its piano driven sound, the track ‘Therapy’ proves to be just that, for the emotional time experienced beforehand. With references to five years of time taken to rid of emotional scars, Sam Smith acts as co–writer on the heart wrenching number.
Other features on the album due for release later this year include Disclosure, Emeli Sande, Naughty Boy and more, with one influence thought to be the late Amy Winehouse.
Following Mary’s time live this week on the BBC’s Later With Jools Holland and at the iTunes Festival, The London Sessions is available for pre-order today.
