April 2, 2014 | Daniella & Letisha Jones-EllisThe Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie is on its way and the soundtrack to the movie has already been put together, with features from a wide range of artists. Two particular artists who have contributed to the movie’s soundtrack are Alicia Keys and Kendrick Lamar, who have worked with Pharrell Williams and Hans Zimmer on the production of the new song ‘It’s On Again’.
The track is the closing song of the movie so there is no mistaking it when you come to watching the highly anticipated project, and this was exactly what Marc Webb, director of the movie, was looking for. “We were looking for just the song to close out the film – a song that would be upbeat and exciting, but also contain a note of foreboding,” he said. “Alicia’s song, ‘It’s On Again’, is the perfect end note.”
The movie will be hitting cinemas in the UK on April 18th and on May 2nd in the US so you will soon be able to see just how fitting the track is to the last scenes. In the meantime, here’s what Alicia Keys had to say about her latest collaboration: “I’m very excited to be a part of such a powerful collaboration with Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams and Hans Zimmer.
“This is the next chapter in the Spider-Man legacy and we really feel ‘It’s On Again’ captures the experience, the story – and most importantly – the meaning behind the film, which is that we all have the potential to be extraordinary. There’s a little bit of a superhero in all of us.”
Here it is, ‘It’s On Again’.
