July 17, 2017 | D<here has been a lot of talk surrounding the live remake of Disney’s Aladdin, especially when it comes to the casting of Naomi Scott as Jasmine.
But with that ‘controversy’ put aside, in light of Scott’s new role, we’re here to lift her up as she embarks on a new and exciting role.
Aladdin has got to be one of the top favourites when speaking of the Disney classics, especially with the larger than life character of the Genie being a memorable part of the film. Now, Scott will work alongside a real life loveable character in Will Smith as he will play the Genie and Mena Massoud as Aladdin.
Scott is an English actress and singer who has had incredible feedback on her acting skills since her big break in the 2017 Power Rangers movie where she played Kimberly, the pink ranger. Plus, she is no stranger to Disney as her previous projects include Disney Channel TV series, Life Bites and Disney movie, Lemonade Mouth, as well as starring in many short films and TV series over the past four years, including the Steven Spielberg produced science fiction show, Terra Nova.
She is also a very talented singer who began her singing career with the Bridge Church Youth Band, a church where both her parents are pastors. So with a history of performing in school musicals and drama productions, it’s no wonder she was chosen for this huge role; especially after auditioning more than 2,000 actors and actresses to star in the movie.
No doubt she’s about to work her magic on this new project.
