June 11, 2013 | Daniella & Letisha Jones-EllisEliza Doolittle is back with her new single ‘Big When I Was Little’.
Out on July 28th, the ‘Skinny Genes’ and ‘Pack Up’ singer will also be releasing her second album this summer, three years after her self titled album stormed the charts, entering at number three, eventually selling over 500,00 copies.
“I was in the studio and I was rambling on about something saying ‘that was big when I was little’ and Steve goes ‘that’s a great song title!’ So I wrote down some ideas and references and we wrote the song. It’s the first song off of the new record and I can’t wait for the whole album to be in your ears,” said Eliza.
The new project will also feature a ‘special, solo, piano version of ‘You & Me’, the top 10 single which she features on with drum and bass group Disclosure.
Eliza in fact wrote the lyrics for the song and this version sees her ‘strip back the original’s garage sound to create an emotive torch song topped by a soulful vocal performance’.
‘The original version of ‘You & Me’ has proved to be a major airplay hit, garnering A list spots at Radio 1, 1Xtra, Capital and Kiss. Eliza Doolittle’s renaissance continues with a return to the live arena this summer.’
Look out for Eliza who is set to perform with Disclosure at Glastonbury Festival and Field Day this summer, plus her own headline shows.
