July 28, 2014 | Daniella & Letisha Jones-EllisTink is the latest female singer and rapper to hit mainstream and the fans are loving it.
The Chicago native is a double threat with her ability to rap, as well as offering a personal side to her image with her RnB vocals. Having previously featured on tracks with the likes of Future Brown and Sasha Go Hard, Tink has come a long way since the release of her 2012 debut WD2 and is currently working on her debut album.
Winter’s Diary 2: Forever Yours is currently under construction. “I’d been working on that tape since last summer,” she said. “I had dropped like four hits that were pretty much just rapping, but I noticed my fans enjoyed more of my fluid songs so I wanted to make a tape that would appeal to every emotion.
“I’m in a totally different mindset when I’m singing. When I’m rapping, like a turn up song, I’m thinking about what the people want to hear, this is what they’re going to like. When I’m singing, I’m like telling my story.”
With the opportunity to hear Tink on tracks ‘Treat Me Like Somebody’, ‘Molly Love’ and ‘Don’t Tell Nobody’ featuring Jeremih, her diversity as an artist is certainly recognised, but which art does she prefer?
“Maybe singing is the true passion, but I got a big heart for the rapping as well.”
