September 23, 2013 | Daniella & Letisha Jones-EllisJ.Cole’s Born Sinner album release has been one of the favourite hip hop releases this year and adding to the praise and adoration for the artist and his work is the release of his new video.
‘Crooked Smile’ is the latest single release from the Roc Nation artist and as he teams up with T-Boz and Chilli of TLC, Cole takes this moment to honour the memory of seven year old Aiyana Stanley-Jones and the issue of drugs in America.
Bringing a focus to the ‘war on drugs’ in particular, the video proves to be an emotional watch, as the story line follows two sides of the law to produce a deep, meaningful and powerful visual to Aiyana and those who have become victims of police raids.
Currently performing the single and the contents of Born Sinner on his tour with Wale, the What Dreams May Come tour has seen Cole perform the touching track many times (some with TLC) and now his vision has been shared with the world, we’re sure the single will continue to be a favourite for its message and meaning for many.
Here’s ‘Crooked Smile’.
