April 3, 2014 | Daniella & Letisha Jones-EllisShe may be one of the most loved TV hosts of the present day, but Emma Willis has confessed that she didn’t always feel confident about her role as a presenter. That’s right, although she has had huge gigs including Celebrity Big Brother, This Morning and more recently, The Voice UK, it is only now that Emma feels completely comfortable with her TV role.
So how did she overcome this fear of self-confidence? It happened to be the influence of two important things in her life. Emma reveals the reason behind her lack of self-confidence: “I felt I’d got into TV by a fluke – because I’d been a model, I looked alright and could string a sentence together.
“I never believed they were 100% behind me for my ability as a presenter. I lacked self-belief until I started doing Big Brother’s Little Brother. I knew then it was something I could do for hours. I feel comfortable now and I’m glad it’s taken time.”
Also, the two special people in her life who gave her this new-found confidence just so happen to be her kids. “Things started to go really well for me as soon as I had kids,” she said. “Sometimes, interviewing people, I would feel so intimidated and nervous. But when you’ve had kids it gives you confidence – you think, ‘I’m a mum. I’m not scared. If I can raise a human being, I can f****** do this!'”
