Selfridges presents live performances and more with Music Matters

July 10, 2017 | D&L

Music definitely matters to those at Selfridges, as the iconic retail company is set to host nine weeks of music events and collaborations.

Upon realising that an estimated 40% of London music venues have closed, Music Matters will take place across stores in London, Manchester, Birmingham, and online during their three month campaign, as they raise awareness and shed light on the number of UK music venues that are currently under threat.

From July 20th to October 18th, the Oxford Street branch in particular will provide a platform for new music artists in their Ultralounge, a location which will be the world’s first in store live music venue! That’s not all. With Skepta and A$AP Rocky opening and closing the event, there will also be entertainment provided in the form of ‘New Music Nights’, and artists nights called ‘Selfridges Presents’.

Tickets for the Ultralounge season of music are available now and for every ticket purchased for these events, a donation will be made by Selfridges to the Music Venue Trust. Great idea right?

Artists passing by over the three months include New Gen, NOT3S, RAYE, MABEL, Last Night In Paris, Hare Squead and more, with other in store activity including classical, acoustic and DJ performances, nostalgic music merchandise available to purchase, and a RYE WAX record store on the menswear floor in the Oxford Street branch.

With all this in store and so much more, this is set to be an amazing event, raising funds all in the name of live music, in this blended concept of music and fashion.

Grab your tickets today and keep an eye out for more info coming soon…
