February 4, 2013 | Daniella & Letisha Jones-EllisWe must say, the reception from music fans and musicians alike has been pretty mixed following Snoop Lion’s (formerly Snoop Dogg) transition from rap music to reggae, with the addition of a change in religion.
The newly confessed Rastafarian has changed his image & sound and his recent track release sees him partner up with popular Dancehall artists Mavado and Popcaan.
‘Lighters Up’ is the artist’s new single and with the inclusion of two of today’s highly rated Jamaican talents, this will no doubt introduce fans of the Dancehall favourites to Snoop Lion as the new artist he is today.
Introducing and re-establishing his sound to a wider audience, as well as to those who have been fans of his rap title since he came onto the scene back in 1992, Snoop Lion is definitely proving not to be a phase with the result of the artist’s epiphany being here to stay.
Here he is with ‘Lighter’s Up’. Get your thoughts in.
