Soul Sister Enjoyed By Many At London’s Hackney Empire

May 8, 2012 | Daniella & Letisha Jones-Ellis

This weekend saw the last of a great run of shows that brought the life and song of a music legend to the stage.

Soul Sister musical led by lead actress Emi Wokoma was inspired by the duet in marriage and music, that was Ike and Tina Turner.

With Emi playing alongside Chris Tummings as Ike, this duo had the audience gripped with their musical talent, tempestuous relationship and their ability to make you forget you were watching a stage production, as emotions run high with the audience throwing themselves into the storyline.

Soul Sister had a great run and was received well by audiences from April 14th to May 5th at London’s Hackney Empire, with plans to move on to other venues in the near future.

From Tina’s first meeting with Ike, her best known hits including ‘Proud Mary’ and ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’, Soul Sister will definitely prove to be a memorable night out full of great entertainment, as the cast take you on an emotional but joyous life journey.

The closing scenes sure had us up on our feet.

Keep an eye out for their upcoming schedule!
