The Super Bowl XLVII Half Time Show Dubbed ‘The Beyonce Show’

February 4, 2013 | Daniella & Letisha Jones-Ellis

Last night was a big one for American football fans as the biggest sporting event in its field took place in New Orleans, with the XLVII Super Bowl of 2013.

Although many were excited to see the big game which saw the Baltimore Ravens go on to beat the San Francisco 49ers, spectators were just as excited to see the notorious half-time show, which singer superstar Beyonce was to headline.

Queen Bey took to the stage and was later joined by fellow Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, following the news of their reunion and recording of new single ‘Nuclear’.

DC fans were no doubt pleased to see the reunion of the girls on stage for their first performance together in over seven years. With the inclusion of pyrotechnics, smoke machines, flashing lights and amazing dancers, the halftime show was being dubbed the Beyonce show for all the right reasons.

Speaking of shows, Beyonce will be bringing her ‘The Mrs Carter Show’ to the UK for kick off, with later dates in the States and North America.

Other performances included Alicia Keys’ ‘Star Spangled Banner’ and Jennifer Hudson and the Sandy Hook Elementary school choir, as they performed their moving rendition of ‘America the Beautiful’, in memory of those who lost their lives in the December shooting last year; a subject also close to Jennifer’s heart as she too lost her family to gun violence.

Who stole the show for you?
