June 26, 2014 | Daniella & Letisha Jones-EllisFollowing a slight name change, a fourth solo studio album and her 2011 marriage to her manager Lenny Nicholson, singer Ameriie (previously Amerie) returns with new music.
With the same name pronounciation but with a different spelling, Ameriie returns with work on a fifith studio album and a 2014 single release ‘What I Want’, which is already getting radio airplay with its popular sample from The Sugarhill Gang’s ‘Apache’.
Since her 2002 debut album All I Have, Ameriie has successfully released four studio albums, with the latter (2009’s In Love & War) being her first released under new label, Island Def Jam. ‘Why Don’t We Fall In Love’ became the talented artist, producer and actress’ debut single, with her most popular song to date continuing to be the girl’s anthem ‘1 Thing’, coming from her second solo album Touch.
With her intuition and a strong belief in energy and vibes having an influence on her name change and her upcoming album as a whole, Cymatika Vol.1 will see Ameriie explore ‘freedom, androgyny and the new world order’, as she leans on genres such as Trance, Electronica, House and New Wave.
This is thought to be the first of a trilogy that is to follow in later years, as she explores the subject of cymatics; the study of sound and vibration.
