Tinie Tempah Talks New Video & Brixton Academy Show

March 21, 2016 | D&L

Following the announcement of his new single ‘Girls Like’, Tinie Tempah has now released the video for the popular track, and he sure has high hopes for the talented featured singer.

When speaking of ‘Girls Like’, Tinie said: “This was recorded at the start of the year with a producer called Nana Rogues who I worked with a lot on Junk Food, and it was really nice for him to put on a different hat and work on something bound for the clubs, festivals and charts.

“Zara Larsson’s vocals on the track are great, and I think she’s going to be really big in the near future. We’ve all been really excited about this track from the start.”

We couldn’t agree more when it comes to Zara’s voice as she can also be heard on the powerful track ‘Never Forget You’ with MNEK and her solo record ‘Lush Life’.

Now, when it comes to the new video, Tinie wanted to do something different and effective and here’s how he came to the decision for the visual.

“With the video for ‘Girls Like’, we really tried to push the boat out and do something completely different to what we’d done before. We headed to the Woodstock suburb in Cape Town – one of the most beautiful parts of Africa – to film this, and the participation of the locals gave it a really different energy and vibe.

“Africa is part of my heritage and this video shows me and aspects of my world in a way that I have never done before. I’m really inspired by South African house music at present and this video represents that very authentically with plenty of dancing and loads of really cool moves.”

Experience it for yourself by watching the video below.

You can also catch Tinie Tempah at his first UK show of the year, taking place at O2 Academy Brixton on April 16th. This will be the chance to watch him in an intimate setting before festival season hits, where we’re sure he’ll be making a few appearances.
