January 26, 2015 | D&L

Ahead of this year’s Grammy Awards, it has been announced that the Grammy Museum will exhibit Tupac Shakur’s personal possessions!

On February 8th, the annual awards show will see LL Cool J host once again and next month (as a former Grammy nominee himself) Tupac, the hip hop legend will be honoured in All Eyez On Me: The Writings Of Tupac Shakur, as of February 2nd.

Looking into his songwriting talent and celebrating his legacy as a performer, actor, poet and social activist, the museum’s Executive Director, Bob Santelli said: “Tupac Skakur was one of the most original and important of all hip hop artists. His writings are both powerful and provocative.

“It is an honour to be the first music museum to acknowledge Tupac’s legacy and to bring context to what was an incredible career.”

Posessions on display will include his notes, lyrics and poems, the Versace suit that he wore at the 1996 Grammy Awards, notes from his first studio session after his prison release, performance footage and more.

“His timeless messages have instilled hope for those who have little and for others, they serve as a catalyst for change,” his mother Afeni Skakur added. All for the honouring of her son, she continued: “His words continue to motivate and inspire new generations. The world is a better place because of him.”
