March 5, 2013 | Daniella & Letisha Jones-EllisHave you ever visited the Hollywood Walk of Fame and wanted to experience the star homeage and tourist attraction elsewhere in the world? Well as of this year, you will be able to experience the great feeling that comes with LA’s site, as the Walk of Fame comes to London!
Honouring the world’s greatest musicians, Camden Street will become the second home of those world famous discs, as North London routes will see the additions take prize possession in the music loving city.
Although names are still to be confirmed, the likes of Elvis Presley, Blur, Billie Holiday, Grandmaster Flash, Soul II Soul & Gil Sot Heron are just some of the iconic figures that are thought to be honoured this summer.
The list of the 30 disc recipients will be confirmed this May, as the vote goes into the hands of the public thanks to the actions of Mr Lee Bennett. Focusing on innovative artists, influential artists, icons, unsung heroes and industry types like managers and producers, the list is set to be a hugely talented one.
Of course the late singer Amy Winehouse will also be included in Camden’s new attraction, as the North London star will also receive a disc along with the unveiling of her statue, which will fall on what would have been her 30th birthday.
We look forward to having a taste of LA in London city!
