May 8, 2017 | D<his weekend actress Lupita Nyong’o was spotted at Manhattan’s Apollo Theatre for the Women Of The World (WOW) Festival.
The festival was an opportunity for artists, leaders and activists to perform readings and take part in panel discussions to inspire and teach young people about every day situations they may be facing, including the dangerous effects of cyber bullying, which gymnast Gabby Douglas took part in.
Lupita performed a dramatic reading, choosing selections from Americanah, the best selling novel from Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. This is definitely a project close to Lupita’s heart as she is set to star in the film adaptation of the book, which follows a young Nigerian woman who emigrates to the US to attend University.
However, before this film’s premiere, you can watch Lupita in the 2018 superhero movie, Black Panther, the next action movie in the Marvel Comics series.
Also, for the rest of 2017, the actress will narrate the animated spin-off, Star Wars: Forces Of Destiny, as Maz Kanata, as well as returning to the big screen movie for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, reaching cinemas in December.
She sure has been a busy lady!
